Yes. A bid status of 'Successful' simply means that you have the active bid and the expiry date has passed - you
can now sign the player if you wish to. Other managers will just see the bid expiry date, and will be able
to make a higher bid.
If you want to stop further bidding on the player you will need to sign him for your squad. Clicking on the
player's name will bring up the 'Player Details' window, which will include a 'Sign Player' button. Once you sign
the player he is removed from your 'Bids In Progress' and placed into your squad. For other managers in your league
the bid expiry date will be replaced by the word 'Unsuccessful' and no further bidding on the player will be
available.
Yes, provided the system is not in the 'Protected Bidding' stage (generally 1 week before the first Dream League
fixture). Click on the player's name to bring up the 'Player Details' window and then click the 'Release Player'
button.
During the initial bidding stage, the fee you paid for the player will be added back into your transfer fund, but
if you subsequently resume bidding for the player you will not be able to submit a bid that is less than the fee you
originally paid. This also applies to any players you have retained.
Once all squads are complete and the Transfer Window is opened, only players in your Reserve Squad can be released.
In these cases the fee you paid for the player is not reimbursed, so unless you can't bear the sight of him in your
squad there is little to be gained from releasing him back to the player pool.
Firstly, bear in mind that the Wish List will not apply any automatic bids before the player's bid expiry date.
On the bid expiry date it will submit a bid that is £50,000 higher than the current bid, provided that:
- You do not currently have the active bid
- You have sufficient funds to make the bid
- You have not reached your limit of players of that category, or players from that Premier League team
- The bid would not exceed the amount you have specified as the 'Maximum Bid Amount'
The automatic placing of the bid will extend the expiry date by a day (as with manual bidding), so the process will be repeated the following day.
When a player bid is withdrawn, the system will roll-back the bidding and reinstate the previous bid. If your's
was the previous bid it will become active automatically and therefore deduct the bid amount from your transfer fund
- even if it takes your transfer fund into the red.
This will prevent you from submitting any further bids as you don't have enough funds even to bid £0. To rectify
the situation you will need to withdraw 1 or more of your active bids in order to bring your transfer fund back into
the black.
There are plans to change the system sometime in the future to address this problem. It is only right that you
should be notified if the status changes on one of your inactive bids, but rather than automatically reinstating
a bid that exceeds your available funds, the system plans to present a message advising that the rival bid has
been withdrawn.
